I was looking at a poinsettia cookie tin, thinking, hmmmmm ..... I could do that. Is anyone else making/made gifts and would you care to share? I need some ideas for family members who aren't necessarily into "altered " art but would appreciate a handmade gift? Got pics or links?

I always have the feeling that I've forgotten something, or find myself working on something that isn't due then rushing to finish something due the next day. So I made myself a chart. Use it if you like ....

My scanner is too small to scan the entire back page of the newspaper at once. Boo! Oh well. I want to share these with you for the use in your art. I am planning to make tees with some of the other ads I found in this newspaper sometime soon. These are from
Wallaces' Farmer Vol. XXXVII Des Moines, Iowa on Friday, December 5, 1913 No. 49. Since they are old enough they are in the public domain and there are no restrictions on their use though I would love to see what you could do with the…

Hi Everyone,
I have been very swamped again with homework and assignments in my 2 courses and it is crunch time as I am reaching the end.
I will probably not be on PDA much over the next 2 weeks.
But I will promise that everything will hit the fan on December 1st. I have the whole month off!!!!!! Yipppeeee!!!!!!
For starters, I have a huge pile of images for the free image pool just waiting for me to start uploading them.
I plan to take some time to create art for myself too, it seems like I…

I met a future potential PDAer in the thrift store last week. Little girl maybe 3 standing in line behind us carrying a lovely pink plastic bowl. My mother smiled and commented on her pink bowl and how pretty it was. She looked at my mom and with great dignity said. " Isnt't pink! It's pinkenorange. "Her mother smiled and said pinkenorange is her favorite color. What was your "pinkenorange". Mine was skyblue pink. Once I heard that expression I was always looking for that color and it was my fav…

Hmmmm, saw a picture of a painting that I liked on a Christmas card, and started researching the artist. I found this info on a public domain use of pictures of art, 2D only. What do you all think of this information? Would you trust it? Click

I had wanted to try the Antiquities embossing powder by Ranger for a long time. I finally found some on sale at a store, got i and this is what I came up with. I think I'll watercolor the rest of the tag in a blue, green wash and it will be finished.
Thanks for sharing-

Hi Everyone,
I have been looking at millions of websites trying to find interesting color combinations and navigation. The only problem is I am getting lost in the content and not staying focused on the task at hand.
Please if you have time, could you send me some links to sites that interest you and let me know what about it makes you feel it is a great site.
Ideally I would like to see art sites, but if there is another type of site that catches your attention, please let me know.
It will…

Hi Everyone,
I woke up this morning to see we have a gift store from the ning network. Along with the new quick comment it seems we are becoming more and more like so many of the other social networks with added gagets and virtual toys to keep us amused.
Well it is up to you to decide whether or not we keep it.
Some of the gift items are a little bit cheezey, but they are kind of cute and I do have the ability to add other ones and maybe in the new year if I have time I will create some.
Or…

Wanted to share this with all of you. I had an appointment today in the same building that Kim had her art show, so instead of hurrying back to work, I spend a 1/2 hour with Kim IN PERSON admiring some Row Houses and charms that she brought to share with me. and Yum, I could buy everything that she had for sale. People were drawn to her art!!! like a magnet!!!
We dont live in the same city but are both in Manitoba and it was great to chat with her. I'm sure all of you are jealous! Hugs. Lynda

Hi Everyone,
I tried to stop in last week but couldnt find any left over day available. Between working, my 2 night courses, studing, getting ready for this weeks art show, canning and my Grandfather, it was all I could fit in.
I still managed to make some salsa and pickled hot peppers from the garden, and have to do something with this mountain of tomatoes I have sometime this week.
Courses are interesting, so far graphic design is well....slightly boring as it relates more to theory and black…

Here is an interesting site I found, she lists explanations, myths, terms, and links to where she found the info so you can read it for yourself. Verrrrrrrrry interesting, I didn't know there is a limit on how many Dover images you can use in one collage, did you? Go
HERE and then tell me what you think?
