The software is SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot), Windows only, and the cost from www.craftedge.com is $75 to download the full version or $90 to download full version and get the CD. From what I have heard, it sounds great!

Hi Lynda, I have a cuttlebug and don't use it as much as I thought I would. It is the all manual die cut machine. I do like it and it works great. It can be expensive as each shape you want to die cut you have to buy a die for it. Alphabets are $8...

So, I've always wanted one but they seem to be a major investment, not only in the beginning but all of the dies, folders etc. I noticed that one of the ATC's in the recent swap had background paper that had been embossed by "Cuttlebug" and though...

Die Cut/Embossing Machines

So, I've always wanted one but they seem to be a major investment, not only in the beginning but all of the dies, folders etc. I noticed that one of the ATC's in the recent swap had background paper that had been embossed by "Cuttlebug" and thought this would be a good place to get various opinions on these machines. Do you have a machine? Are the dies/folders expensive? Do you use it very much? Would you recommend it to anyone else? Anything else you can think of?
Thanks

Skyblue Pink

I met a future potential PDAer in the thrift store last week. Little girl maybe 3 standing in line behind us carrying a lovely pink plastic bowl. My mother smiled and commented on her pink bowl and how pretty it was. She looked at my mom and with great dignity said. " Isnt't pink! It's pinkenorange. "Her mother smiled and said pinkenorange is her favorite color. What was your "pinkenorange". Mine was skyblue pink. Once I heard that expression I was always looking for that color and it was my fav… Continue

Met with Kim in Person

Wanted to share this with all of you. I had an appointment today in the same building that Kim had her art show, so instead of hurrying back to work, I spend a 1/2 hour with Kim IN PERSON admiring some Row Houses and charms that she brought to share with me. and Yum, I could buy everything that she had for sale. People were drawn to her art!!! like a magnet!!!
We dont live in the same city but are both in Manitoba and it was great to chat with her. I'm sure all of you are jealous! Hugs. Lynda

Hi Lynda,
Thanks for your kind comments. The texture on one of my pieces was created by collaging, covering with utee and then stamping into the still soft utee. The other one was done on so called "fabric paper". Cover a piece of thin white fabric with medium (Golden Matt), collage different papers on to it, cover with more medium, let dry and cut into ATC sized pieces. Use these as a kind of background paper which can be further collaged, stamped or embellished.
Take care and have a great weekend
