If you would like to join in the atc swaps and would like to nominate a subject or theme, then this is the place to post the details. First swap will start in the last week of September - theme to be decided based on the replies to this post.

It may be you have a favourite theme
It may be a theme you have thought about for some time
It may be something you feel will be a challenge (for yourself or others)

To join in the swap you wil need to become a member of the ATC / ACEO artists' group
More details to follow soon..................

Hi John. Is this separate from the ATC Group themes, i.e. Asian and Black Cat? There is just so much on this site that its overwhelming sometimes.

Hi would love to join.
Some suggested themes: Metal elements, sewing, chunky atcs, vintage. Basically I am happy with just about any theme

Hi Lynda,

Yes you are in the right place and it is all part of the ATC ACEO group, it is just a new discussion.

If you go back to main page and click on the group button on the top of the page, it will take you to all of the groups. Then click on the ATC group and you will be on the main page of the ATC group. There you will see this discussion title as well as all the other titles in the group including the Halloween theme.

I know it gets a little confusing, just think of it as a family tree and all the generations (groups) are below it.

Hope this makes sense

Hi Lynda, Kim has answered this but I think may have missed one point in your question.

The asian theme challenge and the puzzles challenge are from the PPF group. They can be any art work, of any size and configuration. EG a postcard / a wall hanging / a shrine / etc.

The black cat, halloween challenge is in the atc/aceo artist group but is not part of my proposed swap. Kim has placed the challenge to get members posting atc/aceo artist cards specifically.

Confusing, is it not? Well perhaps a little. You can easily get to the groups from the menu at the top of any page. Click on GROUPS and then select the group you want to access.

My blog post was to alert potential atc/aceo artist group members to the fact that a regular swap was to be organised and to point out that this thread exists in the atc/aceo group

Is it becoming clearer?

see the attached file for a partial family tree, to use Kim's analogy - hope this helps

Why not a Fall theme...Halloween, Harvest or Phobias...

John, I'm so pleased that you are doing this. You're right, the 'random selection' thing sounds fun. So I'll have a go when you're ready. I too am in a Autumnal mood, but any of Astrid's ideas sound enticing.

Lynda, don't let any confusion about where, what, how to post your art stop you from posting your art. Post it where you think it should go with a note saying what you were aiming for. If it's not in the right place, someone will put it the right place or they will send you a message to point you in the right direction. My point is don't let confusion stop you from posting. You'll get used to things eventually.

Lydia is absolutely right. The more that you post and join in the various groups and discussions the easier it will become for you to "know" where you are.

I'm in, although I may not be able to participate all the time. I particularly like challenges based on technique, as it gets me to try new things. I also like the kinds of challenges that aren't too prescriptive (e.g., must include a picture of a moon) but that are just challenging ideas (e.g., what does "moon" mean to you). Hope that makes sense!

BTW the family tree is helpful. :)

Absolutely! A technique challenge as a regular ( but not too often perhaps) thing seems like a good idea to stretch us that little bit further. I will consider this as part of a rota to use all ideas presented. I also agree with your comment about interpretation. Maybe there are some ideas which ask for something to be included, but I hope there is always scope for you to use your own artistic ingenuity and creativity.

The main idea of the swap will be to enjoy taking part WHEN it is easy for you to do so. No need to enter each challenge.

BTW thanks for all the ideas so far, I hope that they keep on coming.

OK, John, I'm willing to start ATCs, it's all new to me! But I have a stack of cardboard blanks, nice & thick, ready to go!
