ATC SWAP; October 3rd to October 24th

Yes I know that I said it would be a bi-weekly swap; but as I am on holiday for part of this time and unable to field queries from particpants, I thought I would play it safe and extend the time for this first ATC swap.

I have put together a set of simple rules which I think should answer most of the expected questions. I hope that the rules can be pinned so that it remains at the top of the list ( Any chance Kim?)

The theme for this FIRST ATC swap will very simple. Anything using the colour(s) RED in whichever way you see fit. This means the subject is up to you entirely, as long as the main colour used is RED. Paint / collage / vintage / modern, it's your choice so lets see some great little works of art.

Enter one (only) ATC by posting a photo in this thread.

I'm traveling a ton the next few weeks (dealing with my father-in-law's estate, then a business trip, then vacation -- woot!) so I don't know if I'll get to be in this one... I have some swaps already on my plate too so I've got to fulfill my commitments. Permalink Reply by John Dyhouse on October 18, 2009 at 4:13pm: Well here is my entry, a little later than I expected due to a mouse in our loft ( roof space for our US members). Sandra was adamant that I set a couple of humane traps to catch it. Unfortunately they worked too well and not at all humanely. The instructions gve advice to remove the creature to a distance of at least one kilometer before extricating him from the trap to prevent him finding his way back, however I don't think there is any danger of that. Sad.

Anyway, my entry; I have created a background using a number of different red papers layered fairly randomly and stamped with oriental characters. Images of a young girl and a geisha are overlayed. The atc is finished off with two groups of faux gems. The different red shades are not seen to advantage in the photo.

My ATC is coming soon!!!! Honest!!!! Just gotta finish this assignment for tonights class and tomorrow I should be able to finish my ATC.

Vacations, mice in the loft, sheesh John no wonder its hard to make time for art.......:)

I finally finished my atc with days to spare.......and so where are you? (kim with a smug look on her face )

This card is titled: Dominatrix in Red "Tonight we are doing it my way!"

I have had this card in my mind for a long time and this image has been waiting patiently for me to put it together.
This first pic shows you the card with the lace overlay, a garter belt piece that I redid in black and red trims, and the lace/card edges are punched and eyelets added, then I used real leather cord woven through each eyelet and finished with silver beads to match the garter belt.

Then when you peel back the lace trim, you see the Beautiful Dominatrix in Red, and she is definitely going to get her way!
I used a vintage image reproduction, some red and black background papers and ink stained the card edges in black.

The back of the card is finished with signature, title, date and serial number and also has the same lace trims.

If you are my trade partner, and this is a card you would rather not have, please let me know and I will be happy to make something a little bit milder. LOL
