You know you're a crafter when ...

1. You look at the spool your bland DVDs came on and wonder 'what can I make with that?'
2. Your pile of recycling never goes in the recycle bin it goes straight into your studio for 'upcycling' into art.
3. People are constantly flicking flakes of glitter off you when you go out.
4. You can gross people out by 'peeling your skin off' - only to reveal that it's glue.


I remember a few years ago when someone (a fellow photographer) sent me a list of 'how you know you're a photographer when ...' - and I realised then that I probably was a photographer! So come on ... add to my list about crafting :)

5. Your fingernails always look like it's Easter, green, blue, pink paint imbedded in odd spots.
6. The trash you pick up off the ground goes into your pocket, not the trash can.

7. you have more household products in your studio than in your kitchen or bath....bleach, alcohol, salt, shaving cream, tooth brushes, mesh produce bags, etc.

9). You know you're an altered artist when you start calling dibs on your co-workers' Avon jewellery.

Kim - that HAS to be my favourite one! My husband has ended up with glitter over him and I have NO idea how! ha ha

1. you look at something "store bought" and immediately make several even nicer just from the stuff left over on your table.
2. you don't watch American Idol or that Amazing Race and you've never heard of One Tree Hill cause you're in your craft room when you're not working at your other job.
3. your family knows that all the tissue paper, wrapping paper, ribbons and bows are "saved" at Christmas time possibly to become gifts for them next year
4. your friends/family/coworkers know to immediately ask you if they are looking for paper, glue, fancy scissors, how to's, old buttons, old postcards, ribbon, and practically just about anything else. You know the best place to buy it, or find it, or recycle it, and you probably have a huge inventory of all of the above mentioned.
