Paper Digital Art and Imagesbykim

Digital images for altered arts, mixed media, collage and crafts

Valentine Art Swap

Here are the basic rules outlined for the swap.

I will sign up as the first person.
The 2nd person to sign up will receive an art card from me.
The 3rd person to sign up will receive an art card from the one above them

And so on and so on…..

When the sign up closes, the last person on the sign up list has to make a card for me (kim aka imagesbykim) to close the swap.

You may sign up under more than one person as often as you like, but remember; each time you will be making a card for the person below you. So if you sign up 5 times, you will receive 5 cards but you are also making and sending 5 cards some where.

Card size should be approx maximum 4 x 6 and minimum standard art card size 2.5” x 3.5”
And any sizes or shapes in between.

Cards should be a piece of art done on heavy art board stock Not a greeting card.

Theme is: Valentine, Romance. Sweet, Love etc etc etc……You decide the images and ideas for the art.

Cards must be completed and in the mail absolutely no later than January 31st, 2009 so that everyone should receive them by Valentines Day February 14th. If you are finished sooner, you may send when ever you are done.

Be sure to send a private message to the person above you who needs your complete mailing address.

Please consider, the art you send out represents you as an artist, PDA quality must be of the highest standard at all times.

Please also honor your commitments to this sign up. There is nothing more disappointing than to wait for an art card that never comes.

Closing date for sign up is Sunday January 24th, 2009. At the close of sign up I will make a complete list so you can see who and where you are on the list.

When you receive your Valentines in the mail, it is up to you (the recipient) to photo or scan the art and post it to this swap so all may see.

Lets have some fun!

Who's ready to swap?

kim is the first

Note: someone asked me about different shapes vs rectangles as outlined above.
Yes, of course shape is fine. The size restrictions are only so that the recipient will not be disappointed receiving something less than what they may have expected.
I hope that makes sense.

Oh so sorry!!! I am in need of charging my camera batteries so that I can post some pics of the lovely Valentines I've received! I got 2 very lovely ladies from Hattie, and an amazing feast for the senses from Sharon:) Sharon, you have no call to be calling yourself an amateur...your creation is truly amazing, even if it is on the larger side, and I'm sure it took you a very long time to create!! SO many layers of techniques and textures, and it smells wonderful too:) I absolutely LOVE it...I love them all! I promise, I will get pictures up ASAP!!

(And thank you Lydia, for the sweet praise:)

Kim and all, Well, This has been a new experience for me. This "swap thing " was a bit difficult for me to figure out (in a way) to begin with, that and my apprehension as to the quality and content of the card, after reading and looking at hundreds of other peoples contributions to Altered Art, I am wholeheartedly an amateur , and far to critical of my ability to create something that will be " accepted " and deemed satisfactory... Thus, "my wait til the last minute" send off. Thank You for the opportunity to do this Kim, ...and all, I hope to participate in another swap in the near future, meanwhile... I am working on it!, Sincerely, Sharon
I think that she got it Kim!, what I meant was that I 'm working on some ideas that I have in my head...and " up my sleeve ".

LOL, Yes I will adjust the list. Sorry I misunderstood your message to mean that you were working on it.
