Paper Digital Art and Imagesbykim

Digital images for altered arts, mixed media, collage and crafts

Hi Everyone,

In an effort to clean up my studio, website and well just about everything in my path, I have decided to start a PIF (Pay it Forward) here on PDA, (just gotta luv this acronym world we live in)

So here is how it works:

I will upload several items could be art or supplies in posts below. Because there will be several items please let me know by name or title when you want something.

The deal is, you may take as many items as you like, but then you must add just as many items to the pile so that someone else can take something too.

If you claim an item, you MUST add an item.

If someone claims your item you MUST mail it to them at your own expense.

Now it doesn't mean that I will necessarily be the one to claim your item either, it may be someone else.

Please be sure to exchange any address information privately with each other as required.

Please stake your claim on an item in a post.

Add your new PIF item in a separate new post. As items are claimed they will be removed from this post with in a few days.

Items can be art items, supplies, vintage or antiques, a ball of funky fibres, fabulous art papers, rubber stamps, etc. Any thing art and craft related. NEW or USED but please do describe the items in detail

You don't have to claim an item in order to add more PIF's. If you are just interested in getting rid of stuff you are welcome to add your items here. But please dont expect this to be a way of adding up points to collect later.

Everytime you claim a PIF you must post a new one. (even if you added 5 items before and only took 3)

Please show an image or 2 on your reply post as well as a description of the item you are putting up as your PIF. If you have more than 1 of the same item, post it as a separate PIF. If it is a box of 10 something then state the person gets the whole box. Other wise you have 10 separate PIFS.

Please dont list 10 PIFS that are the same. (max at 3 please and then post more as they are claimed)

Keep in mind, you may have to mail it to another country so consider the costs of shipping. The person shipping pays for the shipping.

Anyone that does not honor a commitment on the PIF will not be allowed to participate in future PIF's

If 2 or more members claim the same PIF at the same time, the first post is honored. If you are the second or 3rd claim to the same item. Your post will be deleted.

If you are sad because you missed out on a fab item, and someone got it before you, call them a lucky duck and move on. No sad faces, or comments other than happy well wishes. As well no "neener neeners" from the person that did claim the item.

If you receive your item in the mail and you wish to leave a thankyou post, keep it simple and to the point of how happy you are.

Because I can not be every where at once, and I don't want to have to monitor this for every transaction I would ask that you please let me know only if someone has negged on a commitment.

Thanks
Happy PIF'n
Kim

Plain Jane

She loved to crochet,
sew, and sing
in the church choir.

Other than that
she was plain.

I gave her a
pretty brooch
and I think
she smiled at me.

The name came about only when I was making this piece and while it was still unfinished, I looked at her and called her plain Jane. As I was finishing it with the added brooch, for a brief second I almost thought she smiled. ( I was a little tired) so that is how the name and poem came to be!

Made with a recycled tin lid using a photo repro, lace trims, embellishments, wire hanger and as the story is told in the poem, I gave her a retro goldtone brooch that is removable if you choose to wear it yourself.

First view of vintage placemats, "vanilla", I think the old ones have much better looking "lace" than what you get nowadays.

On second thought and after re-examination I have decided to remove all the PIF"S and conversations related that were involved in the last transaction.

For those of you involved, please arrange between you privately exactly what it is you are trading/swaping for and make sure you are all in agreement with the trade.

Let me explain how easy it could turn into hard feelings for other people.

If someone puts up a PIF they are expected to sent that out to the one person that claims it. Shipped at the expense of the original PIF person.
NOT divide it up into 2 PIFS and pay for 2 shipping charges.

The person that claims the PIF is required to post a new PIF for anyone to take.

There should be no hard feelings, hording issues and or retrades. Nor should there be offers to trade in exchange. What if the person doesn't want to trade for your stuff? Why should they be forced to trade?

Snooze and you lose and that is it.

If the receiving person would like to share an item that has multilple parts then repost as a new PIF or trade between you off the PIF forum.

Now I realize in this particular situation you are most likely happy to work out this trade agreement however it is extremely intimidating for someone new coming in.

I hope you can see what could have gone wrong in this situation.

Keep it clean and simple for everyone involved.

Thanks
kim
