Challenge November 23rd, Rusty nails, bottlecaps, pulltabs and paperclips

This is a theme for recycling.

This is not an easy challenge, there are many stipulations to this art challenge.

1. Create any type of art piece you like using your distressed papers created loosely based on the Distressed paper tutorial as posted here.

In signing up for this challenge, you will receive 2 collage sheets sent by email that you may or may not decide to use in your art creation.

You are free to use any other images you like.

2. Your art piece must contain at least one recycled item:

Rusty nail, bottle cap, pull tab, paperclips.
and...you can use them all if you like.

You can create more than one art item.

3. The title of your art piece must start with the words

In my world......

and you complete the sentence as you see fit.

4. Once completed, please post the photo of your art item here on this post.
A brief description of how you created your art piece would be wonderful along with the completed title of your art.

This challenge will be on going and remain open til Sunday midnight CST December 14th
This will allow for plenty of time to make your own papers, print your collage sheets and work on your one or many creations.

This also allows plenty of time for any newbies to get involved.

There will be a final vote for your favorite piece and the winner will receive a goody pack choice of an art piece from me and some additional ephemera art papers.

Although I will participate in the challenge for fun, I will not participate in the vote for a favorite.

Had my collage sheets Kim, and boy are they fantastic. Thanks for that. Now to get on with creating something. Lots of rusty things in my garage, just need to sort out something which says, "Use me!".

Hope to be able to show something in the next day or two.

As starters, I have posted something I did a few weeks ago as a bit of fun, (http://www.flickr.com/photos/shadfan66/3056845834/) but never took the theme any further. Now I have no excuse not to repeat the exercise and put a little more thought into it.

Hey John,

First off, it looks like you survived going into your wife's kitchen, now we are waiting for the results of your paper distressing.

Second, glad you like the collage sheets, I was hoping you would, especially since you are one of very few resident male artists in the group. Lydia emailed me and said something like her head is full of rust! So I think she means she likes them too!

Third, ohh wow! I love the assemblage piece on flickr, you are waaay ahead of us before I even dreamt up this challenge.
Okay, since you are almost physic(sp?) Ummmm can you give me the lottery numbers for the upcoming Wednesday's draw?

That sounds like a ton of fun. I have rusty art pieces hanging all over one of my walls. I'll have to play with them but my camera broke so sadly I won't get to show them off to anyone online. Good luck to all who are competing in the challenge.

Sure you can do this in digital, but you will have to take some pictures of a rusty nail or bottle cap to include, as well your distressed paper. See above.

Okay. I am getting braver. Now that I have posted my ATC, here is my rusty collage. In my world...if I rest, I rust (Helen Hayes said that and boy do I agree!). This was great fun and smelled good too! LOL!
