Paper Digital Art and Imagesbykim

Digital images for altered arts, mixed media, collage and crafts

Click on thumbnail image. This will take you to another size for viewing, however even though it looks large, this is still a very small print size.

Along the right hand side/corner of the image you will see a link that says full size version. Click on this link.

This will take you to a separate window where a huge file will upload. Sometimes they look ugly and distorted, don't worry this is okay. Depending on your connection speed it may take a few seconds/minutes to view..

Right click anywhere on the image and save to your computer file of choice.

Once you have the image on your computer, you can resize, edit, print, etc to your desire.

Hi Kim, I am having trouble downloading your photos from this site.

1. I select an image
2. I click on either the image or its title
3. I see a larger image by clicking on view full size

However all images are of a type which my system does not recognise, looking at the image properties they are a .BIN file. Lfet clicking the mouse simply states that they arae not recognised and will not download them.

Any suggestions?

Hi John,
after you click on the full size version, you should right clcik and save image to your computer.
Even though you see the file extension as filename.bin while you are saving, when you actually see the file on your computer it should say filename.bin.jpg

Another option all together, when you save image, give it an actual name like purple background etc. but don't add the file extension

hope this makes sense

My keyboard had been acting wonky and I changed it out this morning. It was the keyboard that did it.
How are you feeling?

Oh it's still not easy to type but I am now able to use 2 fingers on the right hand so it is better. Mouse action is still slower than normal I can't press down that hard yet.
But your tip yesterday really helped!

The keyboard, were you now able to fix?

Hi John

Even tho you see the name and .bin under the image, it is just part of the name not the file.

Something is blocking at your end. I just can't quite figure yet.

Could you give this a try

When you try the save image option, try renaming the file without any extension. then there is a second drop down box, change this to say all files.

Also what program do you use to open your images for editing and printing?

OK....!

I have used a photo manip tool called photo plus to open the image which saved after clicking on VIEW FULL SIZE. I can export this as .JPG and use the resulting file. Will play with this and try to determine which file I am saving. Will compare size of files with that which I am downloading.

Cannot use the right click/save image however. And I tried the right click/print image and got just an empty page ???

I tried selecting all progs as you suggested but it was still saved as .BIN

at least I have something to play with but would like to know if I should be viewing a larger image when selecting VIEW FULL SIZE.

quick edit.... the .jpg files I am saving do seem to be quite large, so it looks as if I am getting a large-sized image. certainly more than adequate for my purposes. Stange it is not giving me a chance to view the image within the site?

Whew, okay that's great, at least we have something now. Good!

John, please keep me posted. You should see the image properties and they should be full size images that you are working with, if not then you need to go back and download from the full view page.

If you are on the full size image and there is nothing else on the page except the image, then you would use the right click and save to your computer.

Every browser is different so it may take time to figure out how to save the files.

Never ever worry because I do have a absolute back up plan if ever someone can't get it to work.

Sorry I didn't answer this actual question.

No, once you are on that page, it will download the actual file size, not what you are viewing. The viewing size is what fits on your monitor. Actual view (if you have that option) would be a very huge looking file that is almost blurry and distorted looking.

if you are able to view that huge size, that is okay and you can download from there as well.

either way, results will be the same.

I had a spare keyboard (heaven only knows where it came from) so all is well now. This keyboard is much faster and better than the old one.
Kim, I've been going through your amazing images.
I could stay there all weekend just browsing and oohing and ahing.
How on earth have you put all those out into the world? And how do you find time? and Why so many?
Please tell us the story some time. I don't want to make you type any more than necessary.
Love,

Sorry Jill, but do you mean my art creations? Thank-you for your wonderful comments. Those art pieces have been over the years from about 2005 til now.
Well for starters, I am addicted, I belong to many groups that do themes and swaps and I also sell my items.
it is probably about 1/2 of my personal income. Of course lately I have been more involved with image manipulation, website design, and ning networks so I have not created as much art in 2008 as I would have liked.
Honestly, I am excited about how this PDA group is forming and I am looking forward to most of my commitment to art being on this site. It's a great place to connect, share and still be able to dabble in all areas.
I promise much more to come on this site.

Hi Kim, Just to clarify... I am not seeing an image of your photos on its own when I click on VIEW FULL SIZE. I simply get the dialogue box which I described previously. This is a screenshot - you can tell from the background that the photopage is underneath.
