Donna,
I was looking at this picture in my notebook of collage scraps yesterday and wondering where I found it, years ago. Your post led me to Bill Blanton's archive where the lady resides. Thanks!

I found a site with some great images. I am not sure of the rules as I don't speak the language but somebody else somewhere had posted in on a free vintage site and I have it bookmarked because I love the poultry book images. http://www2.vet-lyon.fr/bib/fondsancien/icono.htm There are several old book plates and photos on there and it's fun to look at. Just beware of whatever copyrights they may have. Enjoy!

=inspyretash-stock I love her vintage horse and lady images on there. She has a nice collection of all sorts of vintage stuff, some is nude though so don't visit if you don't want to see nude images. She has unrestricted stocks that you can use the images and have permission to list your creations for sale on redbubble :) Just what I was looking for. The images are not high resolution but they are free and you are allowed to post your creations for sale.

I have uploaded some free graphics and photographs on my Flickr account, too:

Vintage Photographs
Vintage Ephemera
Backs of Cabinet Cards
Old Books
Textures

Most are free for commercial use, too.

Oh, and I spent a good deal of time browsing through children´s picture books on Project Gutenberg last weekend! It is a bit tedious, but there are some real treasures out there. I especially liked Kate Greenaway, Walter and Thomas Frederick Crane.

Wow Valeriana! Your Flickr pages are wonderful and I just love the children's books illustrations! I will have to dig through those some more myself! Thanks!

Victorian Vignettes is now to be found in the shape of a blog instead - easier, faster and simpler for this little lady's restricted time schedule. :) Please come visit http://victorian-vignettes.blogspot.com/ in the future instead, but beware that now in the beginning I'll probably just be adding the images that I have earlier uploaded to the Ning network. More and new images to come, though! :)

Ok, so I've just decided to "go public" with my own Ning network Victorian Vignettes! :) There you will find scanned items from my collection of photos, postcards, old scraps and other ephemera. They are all free for you to use in your art, also art you create for resale. Please feel free to apply for membership if you'd like, and please read the "downloading rules" first. :) There are only 28 pictures as of now, but I'll add more as often as I manage to.

(I'm not trying to compete with you at all, Kim, by the way. As if I could - my collection is waaaay to small to even stand a chance against yours, and my intentions are anyways just to share some pictures that I really like! :) )
